Can't believe I saw this...

Very true. I worked at one of those paint your own ceramics stores one summer while in college. After showing this woman's daughter where bathrooms were, I came back out onto the floor to witness the mother holding her toddler over the trash can. The little girl was nude from the waist down, peeing in front of a floor to ceiling window facing a busy street. The mother saw my look of shock and replied, "It's alright. I'm potty training her."

How the heck does this mother think it is "alright" to make someone else deal with their child's bodily fluids?! Also when did potty training include teaching a child to pee in a trash can? So you literately just showed them where the bathroom was but mom decided the trashcan was better?

I saw this happen on Kali River Rapids a few years back. It was a little girl. Mom and Dad were speaking another language and then dad pointed over to the corner behind some plants. Mom ducked under the railing to a dirt area and behind the plant the little one went. My own son decided to relieve himself from the side of the catch pool at a water park (not Disney).... VERY embarrassing.

I found this line from a previous quote funny because I DID go to college to clean up someone else's poop.... Im a nurse.... but Im sure I get paid more to do so than the average CP cast member.

I can understand when a little one does it on their own will and then parents correct the behavior. Hey stuff happens. I'm more shocked at parents who encourage it!

To your 2nd statement, yes most nurses make hand over fist what CPs make. I wouldn't mind doing it if I was making more than 7 an hour.

I saw a teen girl urinate in RNR in the small room between the pre-show and the launch room. Couldn't believe it. Castmember I told about it looked pretty stunned as well.

We saw this last year in line for the Little Mermaid. I did say something, very loudly and not too "polite" to the Mom. From her reaction, I don't think she spoke English.:sad2:

ALSO, while at Wilderness Lodge, on our way to the boats to MK, we noticed a Mom and small daughter by the hot tubs. The Mom said to the little girl, "hurry up". The girl squatted in the hot tub for a few seconds and stood up. The Mom then said, "All Set"? And back to the pool they went.

Maybe not AS bad because it wasn't at a ride, but DH and I were going to Wilderness Lodge for dinner and when we pulled up to the bus stop there, a little boy, maybe 8 or 9, ran off the bus behind the stop and peed in the bushes. His dad was sitting on the bus. Granted, he was far away from the stop so it's not like anyone at the stop would have encountered his urine, but still. Just get off the bus, another one will be around soon.

People are ridiculous. We were at the zoo a few weeks ago and a lady had her little boy pee over beside a tree. There were plenty of restrooms all over the place.

This must be why most of the resort hot tubs are down for cleaning/broken so much.

Which is why I do not use hotel hot tubs. Disney I may consider, but could probably count the number of times on one hand in 25 years. And I do not sit in them with children.

Not sure. I have seen #2s that were clearly lazy parenting as kid is sayin mommy mommy mommy over and over going unheard until they just do their business on their own.

What is even worse is when the parent tells the kid that they really don't have to go.:sad2:

This is why we have the Three Theme Park Rules:

1: No one rides alone.
2: If someone doesn't want to ride, they don't have to.
3: If anyone has to go, everyone tries.

I can't count the number of times my son said: "I don't HAVE to go!" in response to our stops. Every time, it was as if the Hoover Dam gave way. :-)

Why do kids deny they have to pee?!? DS totally does that. I instituted the 10-second countdown… If you can try while I count backwards from 10 and not get anything, I'll let it go. I don't think he ever made it all the way down even once. Thanks goodness he's 6 now and I haven't had to do that in a long time. He knows if I'm going, we're both trying and we've never had to get out of a line even once in dozens of trips to Disneyland.

I can't imagine these people who tell their kids they don't have to go… um, what's the motivation for them saying they have to then?

Funny this thread made me think of this incident in high school. I went to a Catholic high school and there was a priest who was not suited to teaching in general. Sophmore year a girl asked to pee and he said, not until I see a puddle in the corner. She had some friends form a barrier and made one. He didn't teach anymore after that year. I can't imagine soberly, willingly peeing in front of a classroom full of people. It still makes me laugh 20 years later.

That's disgusting. Pigs.
I have seen the worst parenting at Disney parks. Absolute worst. The meltdowns that start when it gets dark are monumental. Parents AND kids.
I've also seen awesome parenting.
