Booking through Orbitz?

Couple questions. We almost always book our disney trips through disney (DL and WDW) but found a code to get a discount on a room at disneyland. How does this work? What's the best way to get tickets since this is room only? Do you lose any benefits like the early entry or anything? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. This is just a quick 2 day / 2 night February trip.

I'm assuming you are asking about the onsite hotels. We booked the DLH through Orbitz last year. You will receive all the same benefits of staying onsite no matter where you book it. So, you will get early entry (EMH) every day of your stay. You will want to contact the hotel directly to put in any requests you may have, i.e. a specific tower or room configuration. We only booked a standard room on Orbitz, but I called the hotel a few weeks before our stay and requested a room on a high floor with a fireworks view, and we got it!

As for tickets, I'm not sure if you will find any good deals on 2-day tickets. Your best bet is probably to just buy them on the Disneyland website and then you can print them out and take them directly to the turnstiles.

Have fun!!

Thanks. Yes, on site hotels. We're early people and specifically didn't want to lose the early magic hour. Room requests aren't a huge deal because the only time we see the room is when we're dead tired but maybe I'll give them a call if I figure out what rooms are better at paradise pier (I think we'll end up there)

We also booked DLH through Orbitz. I called before our trip to request a certain tower with a view. They said no guarantee and I didn't expect to get it because we never have before. Ended up getting a great view and couldn't be happier!!

GCH through Orbitz this summer. The only difference was paying upfront. The service from Disney and benefits of staying onsite were all the same. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Also, before you get your hopes up....promo codes for Orbitz/Cheaptickets (they're the same company) sometimes aren't eligible for the Disney hotels. I've had many 20% off hopes dashed when I tried to look up a Disney hotel using that code. Go to their website, put in your travel dates, the name of the hotel, your promo code, click search, and pray. I usually book room-only through them with a discount code first, then wait to see if Disney comes out with their own discounts closer to my trip date. Orbitz/Cheaptickets has a free cancellation policy as long as you cancel a couple days before your trip, so if Disney releases their own seasonal hotel discounts, I'll re-book through Costcotravel and cancel the Orbitz/Cheaptickets reservation. Costcotravel sends you to a special "pocket" of the Disneyland website, so you get their official seasonal discounts AND the benefits Costco adds to the package!

Always forget about costco...thanks for the reminder. The site isn't working this morning so I'll have to wait and see what they show.

Just an update. Went with orbitz and a 15% off at PPH. Costco was same price as official disney but included a $40 gift card and character meal. 15% off was better deal for us. Now just have to figure out tickets. Would like to have them available for us at check in so we're not hanging around the ticket booth the next morning to turn in 'vouchers' or similar for tickets. Any suggestions?

You can get your tickets on Disneyland's website and either pay the service/convenience fee and have them mailed to you, or print them out as e-tickets for free and take those printouts straight to the main entrance turnstiles at either park. They'll scan your e-ticket printouts and give you a heavy cardstock ticket in exchange. No need to wait in a separate line at the ticket booth.
