Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE RESORT Information & Questions

Thanks! I've heard great things about Yeehaw Bob and have looked into the campfires they do. Are these worth going to?

I stayed at POFQ in 2009 and have not seen Yeehaw Bob yet, but plan to see him him when I stay at POR in three weeks! My understanding is he's quite entertaining. I am sure others will confirm this quite adamantly. :)

Hello all just was bored in my recouping that I took one of those mymagic+ USB drives and upgraded the size, led and use it as a music drive in my Acadia.

I am taking part in the 8:45 Wild Africa Trek tour at AK. I was wondering how long will in take me to get to AK from POR and also was wondering if getting a taxi is my best option getting there.

We are about an hour or so away (driving) and I just got my room text :) I faxed my request for AB, first floor, prefer bldg 16 or close to food court. Also checked corner room on online checkin floor. We have 1708 - so, almost exactly what we want, but one building farther over. Quiet pool very close by and sort of a tucked away corner of the building, so I'm pretty happy! Thanks Andre for all your hard work and great advice, on the Dis as well as the website!

44 day's away can't wait...everything all done, ADR made, Fast passes all set, on-line check in done Port orleans here we come. Only question remaining is about lunch at Le Cellier, is this worth 2 credits on the dinning plan?

Other than a dinner show like hoop dee do or something I would say nothing is worth two credits. You really don't get your money's worth going to a restaurant like that, that is worth two credits. That is just my opinion tho.

le cellier is not worth 2 credits, IMO.. however!! Narcosses ? definitely!! yachtman steak house? you bet! jikos? loved it! if we are getting the dining plan fro more that 4 or 5 days we try to put in a 2 credit meal, otherwise we never eat all the food!

37 days away and getting excited! I have my room request fax set up on touring plans. Our last stay at POR was in a preferred room so we got to stay in AB for the first time and we liked it. However, we have no need for a trundle (family of 3) and would prefer to go back to the mansion section. We have a garden view (not a royal room) booked with free dining. I requested rooms in the Magnolia Terrace building. Hope we have a good change of getting one there!

I'm sure this has been covered before, but are mosquitoes bad at POR? We will be there in late September. I was at AoA last September and do not recall any issues with bugs whatsoever, but with all the water at POR, I can't see how they wouldn't be an issue? Any insight?
We were just there, and the only time we noticed them was during the movie and then they were horrible! If suggest bug spray if you're planning on watching the movie under the stars. Otherwise you should be fine.

Could anyone confirm that has been to POR recently confirm that cases of water are available in the gift shop? If they are, what is the current price? Thank you!
I didn't see cases of water (there might have been, I just didn't see them), but water/juice/pretty much everything is soooo expensive at the resort. It was cheaper for my husband to take a cab (Even with the cab fare) to the nearest store to stick up on water and juice than to buy it at the resort.

Our friends land at 6:35 pm. We have an adr at Boatwright's for 8:05. Will that be enough time for them to get to the resort and get to dinner? They're using magical express amd picking up their luggage, so they don't have to worry about it arriving in the room too late.
I'd say no. We landed just after 5:00 and barely made our 8:00 ADR there.

There was some previous discussion, I can't recall if it was this thread or a separate one, regarding motion sensors in the rooms that cause the AC to turn off in the middle of the night.
I can confirm that this is NOT the case in our room!!
We were actually a bit too cold last night, even after turning the temperature up to 69. I'd rather be too cold than too hot, so not complaining at all, but this morning was funny. DH mentioned he was REALLY cold when he woke up, so he turned the temp up even more.....seemed like the AC just kept turning back on after a few minutes, no matter how high we set it! Well, he had it up to 71 or 72, and suddenly we realized it made the HEAT come on!!! Here we are in Florida in July, after I've spent months worrying about how we would handle the hot weather, and we are running the heat in our room!! We let it go for a bit to warm things up, then turned it down again. But as I said, I can definitely confirm the AC did NOT have a motion sensor on it ;)
