Stroller as wheelchair......what about a sit & stand

my son has many medical conditions and I plan on getting our stroller tagged as a wheelchair for him. We also have a 5 year old daughter and I was just planning on making her walk the parks. My friend offered to let me borrow her sit & stand stroller so my daughter has a place to sit. Will CM allow a sit & stand stroller to be tagged as a wheelchair for my son? Would it be better to take our small umbrella stroller for our daughter? Or just make her walk?

They would tag the sit and stand stroller as a wheelchair, as they do it to double strollers even if only one child has the issues.

A couple things you need to check into and consider:

- how long is it? The size for wheelchairs is no wider than 30 inches and no longer than 48 inches. Some of the sit and stand strollers are pretty long, but might still fit in that 'footprint'. The longer it is the harder it will be manouver in lines. If it's too long, it won't be able to make turns in line.

- check the weight and height limit for the seat and the standing area. For many, the limits are pretty low. Too tall of a child might make pushing the stroller and seeing where you are going. Being higher than either the weight or height can make a stroller difficult to push and/or steer or make it unstable.

I too know people that have one child in need of a wheel chair tag and hey use a rubble stroller at disney world that is what I would do just use a double one

It says the length of that one is 49", so it is beyond the dimensions allowed and probably wouldn't turn the corner in queues.
An inch would make that big of a difference? The allowable length is 48. How would one inch make a difference?

Accessories or features do not prevent a stroller from being designated as a wheelchair.

"How would one inch make a difference?"

Not all of the walking paths have been tested with strollers longer than 48 inches and your might be unlucky enough to get stuck in a path that turned out to be too tight. Then you or someone else sees if it would bend or give slightly to get through and something snaps or breaks.

After discussing it further we have decided against a double stroller. Family is going with us & it would be better to have 2 strollers so if our son needs a break someone could take him back to the hotel and we could use our smaller umbrella stroller for our daughter if she gets tired. I'm almost against a stroller for her but I know it's a lot of walking and I'm sure she will get tired and this will help with melt downs I'm sure.

You might want to take a stroller for him, but just rent a stroller in the park for her if you need one. That way, you don't have to bother with dragging around an umbrella stroller that she may not use just in case.

We are driving so we will have the umbrella in the car; we can see how it goes without a stroller. If she has a melt down we can always just as easily go back to the car at our resort and get it. It's a nicer umbrella; we purchased it for a trip to California where we did Seaworld, the San Diego Zoo and of course Disneyland. We flew on that trip and didn't want to take my big stroller on a flight. It has most of the features of a full sized stroller just in an umbrella sized.
