Hello Disney Infinity fans...
I am a proud owner of D.I 1.0. I did not get into 2.0 since there was not a lot of play-sets like the 1.0. I"m curious about 3.0 though since already we know of at least 2 playsets (Star Wars & Inside Out). But I'm curious what is the difference between 1.0 and 3.0? I am sad to say that I don't play 1.0 as often as I like to even though I have it for 2 consoules (Wii and Xbox 360).

Thanks for your help.

HI - We have both DI 1.0 and 2.0. I didn't like 2.0 as much in general, because the playsets, which were my favorite part of 1.0, weren't very good. There were 3 of them, Avengers, Spiderman, and GotG, and the first two felt very much the same. I liked that you could cross characters from different playsets, but the gameplay itself is sort of so-so. What was most improved in 2.0 was the toybox play. It was a lot less just wandering around and a lot more play. Also they had playset generators.

Like you I am hoping there is more variety in 3.0. So far they have only officially announced two star wars playsets and the Inside Out Playsets. There are strong rumors that there will be another avengers playset, as well as a Force Awakens playset, which would bring it up to five. I am hoping there will be one or two more.

Could you cross characters from other playsets in Infinity 2.0? I thought Spiderman, GotG, and Avengers were each locked to figures assigned to that series?

I have 2.0 and all the characters, but all my kids and I have ever done is mess around in the toybox. We have never touched the mission playsets because I am under the impression we HAVE to use just those charatcers, and the kids only like playing with the disney originals.

We LOVE 3.0 Infinity. We have 1 and 2 as well. I preferred 1, even though I am a big Marvel fan. With 3.0, my daughter played the SW one much more than me, (she is 23 years old). But, we are REALLY into the Inside Out playset. You play together, no split screen. It is easier playing with 2 players. It is hilarious that they set a time "goal" of 7 minutes per board! We average 20-30 minutes, but we are trying for all the "stuff", balloons, 5 pages, and the idea. We also just goof around, jumping like maniacs, so it can even be 35-40 minutes.

We are also now exploring around in the Toybox, in the Community worlds. There is so much content to see. You can use the other characters from 1.0 and 2.0 in the Toy Box.

I have to admit that the 3 minute loading screens are ridiculous. Other than that I love community toybox worlds.

Yup - looks like Disney is killing DI. Doesn't make 80% profit so it's got to go.
