Avatar Land Timeline?

Has anyone heard anything more concrete regarding the timing of the opening of Avatarland? I would love to convince DH to revisit Disney in 2017 when Avatarland opens since he loves Animal Kingdom. All I've seen so far is 2017, and we all know how fast Disney construction moves!:rotfl2:
 
I think that's as much detail as we have, but since you asked I was wondering if anyone had the estimated opening for all the other projects. There are so many I can hardly keep them straight.

Rivers of Light is I think early 2016?

Soarin' 3rd Theater?

Toy Story 3rd Track?

Frozen?
 
Hope it's open by August of 2017 as that is when we are planning or next trip and AK is our favorite park.

Is that "Frozen" as in, Frozen will be gone by then? :rotfl2: Because that's my real Disney dream! But agreed, I would like to know timeline on the rest of these if anyone has any ideas.

Agreed! I will be working a contract job that ends August 2017, so I'd love to take some time between that and my next job to go down there. I'd still love to go at Christmas once, but if I did that I think I'd go with the intention of not actually getting to ride anything other than what I have FP+ for because I know how crazy the lines are!

Nothing has been officially announced. Some sources have said later in 2017 it will open. Rivers of light is rumored for March 2016. The night safaris are also supposed to come in 2016 as well.

Rivers of light is rumored for March.

Soarin and TSMM in early 2016 no specifics on that. However once the third soarin theater opens another will go down for upgrades and so on. So full three theaters won't be in effect until end of 2016 probably.

Frozen is set for May.

Correct, and early is fairly broad. It can be anywhere from January to April. If I had to guess a late April launch makes sense in my mind. Get some of the operational kinks out before summer with lighter crowds. However that also maximizes time for construction too.

Disney is always broad early with dates in case they have to push things back.
 
Well fingers crossed it's open by the time we are there in late August 2017. Not that we are big Avatar fans but something new is always good. Is there just one new ride or some other stuff as well? I know there is suppose to be a Soaring type ride but thats about all I know. Keep seeing it called Avatar land so gather there is more too it.

Two rides and a possible third attraction that could be a show or walk through of some sort. The name of the land is actually Pandora the world of avatar or something along those lines. If avatar isn't open you'll have rivers of light and the night safaris most likely In AK.
 
Two rides would be good! Hope it's open by the end of August 2017. With all the stuff happening I'm getting excited about going so don't know how I'm going to last 2 years. Between new stuff at Disney and Universal there will be lots we haven't done....now if they could only get going at HS so there is something new there that would be great.
