Current Crowds Question

I'm not really sure if this is the right forum, but I wanted to see if anyone is at WDW now, or recently to share how the crowds have been. We leave Friday for our trip and just curious how things are down there. We are "seasoned" Disney tourists so obviously we understand it's probably busy and their will be lines, but just trying to get a feel from someone that may have boots on the ground.

If anyone may know I'd be curious to hear.

TIA,
Mark

We were at MK this morning and it was lovely for the first hour...by 10 it was VERY busy! The line for Thunder Mnt. was out on the sidewalk and down the path in front. The wait (with our FP) for Buzz was 35 mintues! I haven't seen it this busy in a long time. We decided to take the boat to Tom Sawyer's Island and hang out there for a while, it was a nice break and MUCH cooler:)

There Was a disconnect for me between crowds and standby lines. I'm not sure walking through the parks was harede, but the stanb lines were longer.I know some have looked at wait times and have concluded that for major attractions waits are a little shorter. For the medium attractions the waits are up.

Half way through our trip, my wife commented that she felt we were getting less done and had less time at our resort. I think she was right

We were there last week and it was busy, but I didn't think it was unbearable. I have never gone when it wasn't busy so I guess I was prepared. RD if you can to minimize wait times.

Just looking on my Disney app to see wait times. For example at Magic Kingdom Buzz right now at 1:50pm on a Tuesday has a posted wait time of 55 minutes, Jungle Cruise shows 70 minutes and Space Mountain is showing 95 minutes.
I am not there but wanted to give you an idea of some wait times today.

Since frozen+upgrades/changes started, there's never really a quiet time. Last couple trips i've noticed certain sections of the parks are just less crowded than others depending on time of day. newer attractions never really quieting down and you need to be first or last on them for a reasonable wait without fastpass. Theres even a couple days in the past i've seen them shutdown the non-fastpass line because fastpass had the outrageous wait.

Good idea I didn't think to check the app... It's nice to hear a "boots on the ground" report though too about how it actually feels. I mean it is summer time so I guess I shouldn't expect the 20-30 minute waits. It's all in how we time things. At least we have those precious 3 fastpasses for the big things we definitely want to hit each day. We could definitely use more than 3, but at least we know we're guaranteed those!

What?! The FastPass lines were so long that they closed the non-fastpass lines? I've never waited longer than 15 - 20 minutes in FP. Has that changed?

It was a trip that was the last week of sept into the first week of oct 2014. Insanely crowded and the toy story ride kept stopping so often that by mid-afternoon only fastpass was allowed on and they had almost a 100 minute wait. That ride is too easy to have something fly out of the "car" and get run over. 7 Dwarves the same trip also had something similar happened from a lot of rain stops but everyone with a fastpass while it was closed got in pretty fast and regular line reopened an hour later (then closed for more rain).. It was a lot of rain that week.

Thanks for sharing your experiences--it never would have occurred to me that even FP+ can't always protect you from crazy lines. We missed 7DMT last time (my DD won't let me forget it, just as I won't let her forget that she got to see Elsa and Anna with no trouble) and have 3 FP this trip. Will have to stick it out no matter what, but it will be a lot easier to take with advance warning, should that happen. Thanks again!

Back from our trip last week and it was busy but not hateful. Sure the big rides had some longer waits, but we were able to get in everything we had, but a few we couldn't due to the monsoon rains... lol Hope everyone with upcoming trips has a great time.
