We've got Deluxe APs but we're out of DVC points! A year of Disneyland trips- updated 6/27!

That's right, your boys can't really share a bed anymore. My kids are shrimps so for now, they're ok. Are 2 studios less points for Hawaii? I am still wanting to make that trip work.

Actually I think it is slightly more to get 2 studios versus a 1B. Not a ton but a little bit. It would sleep more so that kind of makes sense but you lose the kitchen. To be honest I really think not getting a 1B would be a mistake, the studios would be really hard to do breakfast and/or lunch for 4. Assuming Gabby wouldn't be there as the studios don't sleep 5. There are not that many food options nearby and they are pricey. Having that kitchen is worth the extra points for what you'd save in dining costs. Plus of course, no guarantee that the 2 studios would be close to one another.

We did decide today that we will return to WDW in October 2017! Michael wants to see AvatarLand and I want F&W. We had a family chat and for now, want to do an OKW/AKV split stay. I would love to score AKV concierge but have read it's impossible at 7 months and we want a Studio no less.

I would like to go in 2017 as well. Evan is not so interested and well, right now I'm not sure I want the 3 males vacationing together anyway. UGH testosterone. We will see. I am kind of hoping to do Puerto Rico via an RCI exchange with a few night son each end at WDW and IoA.

After Space we were FAMISHED! It was finally time for our family's favorite: The Plaza Inn.

We got 3 fried chicken meals for the 5 of us; one with no beans and extra mashed. I am telling you, it was soon much food.

I am DYING to try this still! Hopefully in November. Assuming I can pull off November.

Coming off Splash we ran into our friend who is a guide and got a photo with this Disney Channel star Jake Short from A.N.T Farm. Chloe had the biggest crush on this kid.

And you can tell in the picture! So cute.

It was time for a break at this point. So everyday when we took our midday break we saw this uber long line of locals waiting to get of of this Joe's ice cream. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was so special until we actually tried it. Its a chain of sorts and holy wow it's good!

That is some BLUE ice cream! How fun.

Great update

What a fantastic time so far. I love that you got such low crowds on that side of the park.

You got a lot of great family shots on this day.

We had Berry Hibiscus the first year they offered this, but this has not been back since.

Not yet. I have until the end of July before I have to make the decision. I am hoping that one of the waitlists will come through. I would be more than happy to stay at Paradise Pier for the second period.

Corinna

I would sty at the PPH too but its just too darn expensive. :( We had a looming holiday chat this morning and we decided that we need to go while the APs are still valid. Looks like we'll stay offsite about 5 miles away. I can get a screaming deal at a local Hilton so we'll do that. Hopefully we can fly Gabby home for a few days after Christmas. The thought of her missing the holidays makes my stomach hurt.

Wow, the photos with nobody in them are great. I would love to see the Evil Queen at some stage. I have not managed to see many villains up to this point. I am hoping to put this right in fall. The ice cream looks delicious.

Corinna

The ice cream was this amazing soft serve. Joshua's shell was blue raspberry. He ate every single bite.

I don't know where the villains camp out but you should see plenty in September.

I agree, its better to have a kitchen and forgo a little living space. A nice stop at Costco, like you guys do, and you're looking at saving a bundle. Its really a smart way to go.

When will you do Puerto Rico? In 2017?

Are they boys bickering? Not sure the estrogen fest we have going on over here in any better. LOL! #sharkweek

You HAVE to try it. Its just soon good. :cloud9: 100x better than Mrs. Knott's. I was not super impressed with Mrs. Knott's last time. Jill and I thought our chicken was dry. The cabbage was awesome as were the potatoes but I was really looking forward to the chicken.

His mouth remained blue for a while. :lmao:

Thanks! It really was empty that morning. I love mornings like the one we had. No real agenda but still did a ton.

I have the points to pull it off, but I have not stayed at the Grand Californian properly since May 2012 and I am getting withdrawal symptoms.

Hopefully we can fly Gabby home for a few days after Christmas. The thought of her missing the holidays makes my stomach hurt.

I keep my fingers crossed for you.

I don't know where the villains camp out but you should see plenty in September.

I know the last couple of years they had a Conjure a Villain tent at the Halloween Carnival.

I actually don't think you are really forgoing much on the living space side. The 1b's sleep 5 officially so that's nice and you get a really decent sized table you all could sit at and none of that in the studio so for eating in, it's fabulous. Plus, 2 lanias!

Ya, 2017. ALL the boys are bickering. Big and small. I have 3 teenagers in the house I swear. All crabby, irrational and who have to be right. None of whom who will listen to me. LOL

It was neat that the park was not that busy that morning and you were all able to go on a lot of different rides. This is what I like about the morning times when the park opens early so you can go on some of the big rides.

Great score on BLAB.

I totally get it! Its such a beautiful DVC resort. The GCV and AKV are my favorites. I haven't stayed at many of them though. I was looking at the POLY DVC bungalows and I cannot believe what they're charging to stay there. :faint: I could get one night for almost my whole year's worht of points. :lmao:

Conjure a Villain? That sounds FUN!

Love a big table too! Mkaes it feel more vacation like when you aren't eating on beds. :crazy2:

It would be fun to overlap. We are wanting to do F&W again for sure.

Sorry the boys are bickering. :headache: What's their beef?

:thanks: Admittedly the ride got stuck and I sat in front of a target and shot for a good few minutes. But heck, I'll take it! :lmao:

I don't allow eating on (or in) beds lol. Grosses me out.

F&W would be fun but there is no way I could take the kids out of school at that time of year. We will be looking at UGH, summer of 2017. Hopefully PR via Orlando both ways. Some WDW on one end and some IoA on the other. That's my BFP. Evan wants to go somewhere where they speak spanish that isn't too touristy, he wants more cultural than beach. Which is fine...to a point. I want to use points as well, we have them, and I need it to be somewhere safe. No one seems keen on anywhere in Mexico and practically speaking flight cost wise that narrows it down to PR and Costa Rica. PR has more cultural I think and the flights are arguably cheaper. Plus I can route us through Orlando.

LOL

Ah, really they just all are on each others nerves all the time. Everything seems to set everyone off. It's not any one particular thing but rather an ongoing list of every.little.thing.

I read this but forgot to comment. You guys really get around the parks!!! Lots of great rides in rapid succession! And lunch at the Plaza Inn. I really need to get back out there! It's been much too long since I've had a good solid day filled with fun!

Too bad you don't know someone with 11 months priority at AKV for the concierge studio. :rolleyes1

One thing I love at DL is all the characters just our roaming. It's so spontaneous and fun!

I could probably do F&W in 2017. ;)

Me too but the floor is almost worse. :crazy2: Go for the 1 bedroom.

True, I always forget about school. We have a small two day break in October that preceeds a w/e so we'd use that time and they'd miss a couple days of school....maybe. Now that Joshua will be in 9th grade next year, we'll see how he feels about that.

I like your BFP! I like Mexico and find it safe but know it's not everyone's cup of tea.

Summer in Orlando? UGH but hey, you have to make it happen so hot and crowded is better than not at all! :woohoo:

I can't stand that. I am so sorry. I just want to bang their heads together when they are like that. :scared:

::yes:: We'll be there in July! Come play!

:woohoo: ::yes:: F&W in 2017 it is!

I only have SSR points but I'd love to figure something out and stay AKV concirge part of the time. :cloud9: Maybe I will have added on by then.

I agree about the charachters in Disneyland. They are more random than in WDW. And playful too.

I was super far behind, I'm sorry. All caught up though, and great updates I must say!

Both parks are super gorgeous at night!

The Evil Queen looks great but I LOVE that CM next to her, he looks happy to be working! :teeth:

So many awesome rides!!!! Is the guy Chloe is clutching a celebrity? I would be shaking in my boots if I was that close to a celebrity!

Bummer about December and double bummer about not renewing APs :( hopefully M will come around.

Don't count out AKV CL, I got a wait list fulfilled after 7 months.

And I'm sooooooo sorry about all this work stuff :grouphug:

That is a great picture of you guys on Splash!n How fun!

Ok - this is going to sound weird but you have may had bags under your eyes (covered by the heart), but your teeth look great in that picture. What a perfect smile.

That chicken looks so yummy! I'm not so sure about the blue ice cream....:rotfl2:

The Evil Queen is one of my favorites! She is so cool!

No worries about being behind. I am in perpetual behind-ness. :lmao:

We have decided to go out right after Thanksgiving like last year. I was able to score an amazing rate at an offset hotel, about 5 miles away. Free parking, free breakfast too! Because we drive to the parks and have to pay for parking, I can't stand paying two parking fees in one day. We'll go out right after Joshua's Thanksgiving tournament and spend the week visiting Disneyland and Gabby.

We are thinking October 2017; you in?

Chloe loved meeting Jake! She was grinning all day. :teeth:

Thanks for the teeth compliment. I need to wear my bleaching trays more often.

Joshua's mouth stayed blue even after he brushed his teeth. GAK! :crazy2:

So I finally have news on the work front. I was offered and accepted the full-time therapist/social work position at my current hospital. When I weighed out all the pros/cons it was the best choice. The transfer will be official July 5 just in time for me to go So Cal with the kids on their annual pilgrimage to see One Direction. #RIPZayn I am excited for the change and elated I will remain with Behavioral Health. Its just home. My benefits stay the same which was a weighing factor for me. I'll have a little anonymity but I will have less responsibilities such as employee evaluations and various meetings and reports. :woohoo:

Uploading pics now for an update! :flower3: :mickeybar

That sounds promising.

Congratulations on the job!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: that sounds like a really great compromise! :)

I'm in for 2017, whatever we're doing I'm in :hyper:

Awesome about the fabulous hotel rate for after Thanksgiving!

Yes, it'll be October 2017 for WDW. By that time I will know nada about the place. :lmao: Still haven't used a magic band or done FP+.

I think it'll be good. I am eager though to be finished training the woman who'll be taking over some of my old responsibilities. It's like when I'm done, I'm done! It takes me forever to make a decision but when I do, I just want to move forward. Hate limbo.

I completely understand about the job. Sorry you still have a month until the official transfer. Hopefully it will fly by.

I'm totally in for October 2017. Avatarland should be up I think right? And any time you want company in DL next year I'd love to join you guys. I'm going to welcome familiar faces. :) I'm hoping Alaska will be ok with my vacation obsession.
