travelling with my brother to universal for two nights sat may 30th to June 1st and will have about 1 1/2 to 2 days at the parks. Currently booked at doubletree across the street from us. It would cost $500 cnd more to move over to royal pacific to get express pass. Would you do it or save the $500?

Have you checked to see what the price would be through cheaptickets.com? Using code, celebrate, it is $492 US for the two nights inclusive of taxes. Doubletree is about $321.98 inclusive of taxes.

I got doubletree for $69 a night so it would cost me $500 to upgrade to stay onsite.

If you've never been and want to see and do everything, I'd pay the difference. It's a steep price but if this is a rare opportunity I'd pay it. In addition to the perks, the Royal Pacific is a very nice hotel.

As another option, you can buy express passes without staying on site, but for 2 people over 2 days you might pay the same as upgrading to the Royal Pacific. Maybe you could get the express passes for one day and split the difference.

$69 including taxes and fees?

$492 US is $597 Can
$140 US (assuming that is including taxes and fees) is $170 Can

Factor into that the value of your time that you will spend in line. It will be Memorial Day weekend, so you will probably be waiting an hour or so in line for most stuff without express.

For us, YES it is worth it at any cost. But we enjoy the resorts as much as the parks, we love the proximity of how close they are to the parks and the express pass is worth it to us AT ANY TIME of year..If we don't stay onsite, we don't go.We were spoiled from our first trip in Jan 2012

We are going in August and we intending to buy the 2 day, park to park tickets and buy the fast pass (one time per ride) for the 4 of us. The cost to do this was $280 for the passes and the hotel room was supposed to cost $304 for one night. We used the cheap tickets celebrate offer and got 25% off so with the Canadian exchange the room is costing us $306 CDN for one night with 2 days of FOTL access - so will it be worth it? Heck Yeah it will be

No memorial day is May 25th

We stayed for the first time on sight just a few months ago and for us it was worth it. We loved the pools and the closeness of the hotel to the park even though we stayed at CB it was the best and the food was terrific . we are going again but this time we are going to stay at the HRH

Thanks everyone. I like the idea of just getting express pass for just one of our park days or doing a split stay with one night on site. Something to think about.

For our family, yes it would be worth it. We like to repeat rides a few times before moving to the next ride. Also, the proximity to the parks is very nice.

Remember one night stay gives you 2 days of express. The day you checkin and the day you checkout.

Is this still true? It was kind of confusing on the website, but if this is the case, then it definitely is worth it to stay at least one night at the deluxe resort on property.

I have stayed at both. The experience is great when you stay on site. If you have the $ then I vote yes!

I am also curious about the answer to this. I thought it was just one day for each night? Anyone stayed on site recently who could verify this?
