Hi There! :)

I am desperately searching for a lithograph, picture, or poster of this one image I have seen in Disney Magazine. It is a black and white image of Walt with his hands in his pockets walking through the gateway of the castle in Disneyland. I absolutely adore this picture and am looking for a copy of it. I believe I have seen others of it in books at WDW before too.

Any ideas where I can find it? I've looked!

You might want to stop by The ARt of Disney. I did buy a pic of Walt (not the one you are looking for, I have that on a t-shirt), and they might have it. Call WDW merch. guest services for some assistance in finding this.

You know I thought as I clicked your post that that is the one image I've been looking for too! I would love that framed in my home, and saw it once framed maybe 3 years ago at the Disneyana Shop in Disneyland. Didn't ask about it then though, I was really interested in buying the Nickel Tour book back then but I remember stopping and looking at that print and thinking how cool it was. Looked for it last year while at WDW but no luck, although I never asked about it. Good luck and let us know how it goes :flower: .

I think it is called "Footsteps" by Charles Boyer. Disneyauctioneers sold one a while back for ~$350. I will be looking for it a Art of Disney in November.

I have a photo print of the picture that you are referring to. It was part of the press packet for the 35th anniversary of Disneyland.

I don't know how I could make you a copy or if it is allowed.

Any ideas?

Not sure where you could find that. But did see a great picture of him at "Seven Falls" in Manitou Springs/Colorado Springs, CO. It was in the hallway/tunnel entrance to the elevator to the "Eagle Observation Deck" (which was an elevator in GRANITE ROCK - very cool!)

Looking at the picture kind got me thinking of Disney and some of the themes of some of the rides at WDW! :earboy2:

I think the picture was not taken by Boyer............

This was quoted from Disney's website at some point but I can't find it now........

Quote...............
Renie' Bardeau, who was Disneyland's official photographer for forty-three years told me, "I took the photo that has become most people's favorite shot of Walt. It's called 'Footsteps,' and it shows Walt walking alone through the castle, early in the morning. The great thing about that photo is it's candid, not a set-up. Walt is wearing a beat-up old sweater and a well-worn pair of pants. That picture says so much about Walt. He's the kind surveying his Magic Kingdom - yet he's really just a regular old Joe."

I know the picture that you are refering to... If you are trying to locate one to purchase please send me a PM or email.
