hello! We requested a king so our 2.5 year old could sleep between us. Just found out we will be getting two queens and a day bed. Are the day beds closer to the ground than a normal bed? Thinking if I stack pillows next to day bed it will be ok? Anyone have pics of this room type?

We booked woods/ courtyard view type and they said we are close to the lobby elevators- hope this is an ok location!!!

If you do a search you might find a thread with a map of where the daybed rooms are located.
The daybed rooms are at the front of the hotel all over looking the drive up area.
You can always request as many extra pillows as you feel you need.

2 queens & a daybed are a rare room type at GCH. Usually the room would be 2 queens & a sleeping bag with a pad underneath. That would solve the falling off the bed problem; if you're not ok with your 2 1/2 year old in a sleeping bag you could always undo it and make it into a bed.

Depending on your timeline and transportation, for a cheap toddler bedrail, go to Target or somewhere similar and buy a pool noodle. Place the noodle under the sheet.

Why not put the toddler in the other queen bed with bed rails, assuming the bed rails do not work on the day beds?

I could be wrong but I think they have a limited supply of bedrails at all DLH hotels?

The day bed is low to the ground. One side is protected meaning you can't fall out but you'd need a rail for the other. Not the best idea but one parent could sleep with the child in one of the queens and one of you could sleep alone in the other bed.

ETA: I'm thinking of the daybed in the villas, not the hotel part of the resort.

If you could get a room with bunk beds instead, the bunk beds have a pull out trundle bed that's maybe 10" off the ground. (But good luck keeping a toddler off the bunk beds! We put luggage on the top bunk when my son was tiny; that helped!)
