Hello DIS. Eddie here just saying hello.

I was born in Pensacola, Fla. though now my wife Kati and our two dogs Jenny and Abbie recently moved to Orlando ... More specifically Dr. Phillips, Fla.

We live right at 3 miles or so from Disney property and visit as much as we can. Meaning pretty much five or six times a week. I have been a Florida resident AP holder since 1989.

Just saying hello and looking forward to chatting with everyone about all things DISNEY!!!

:welcome: @DrivenByDisney we're happy to have you here! Have to say you have rockin' hair! :welcome: to your wife as well! Living near Disney sounds like a wonderfully dangerous thing! *grin*

Thank you very much!!? Wife is a hair dresser ... I'm sure she will be pleased.

And thank you for all the welcomes. Yup, 3 miles from all the Magic and love it!??

:welcome: Had a total dumb moment there when I thought your name was actually Dr Phillips!! :rotfl: Totally jealous that you live so close to WDW! :earseek: You know in Dr Phillips! :lmao:

Hello & Welcome.

My DH wants to move near Orlando so bad. Upon our return from our vacation at WDW in June, he has contacted 2 recruiters to help him find a job in Florida. We are both tired of the cold winters & crummy summers here in Michigan.

I lived in Pensacola from 2011-2012 and moving back there in a couple of months. Hope someday I can live so close to WDW... :yay:

Don't really miss it all that much. Went back recently and there was nothing any different from when I left. Not expending. Very little to do other than the beach. Still. Miss the beach at times. Miss Peg Leg Pete's and that's about it.

So lucky to live so close!

Very luck!! Take full advantage of it as well. At Disney in some way shape or form at least three to fives times per week.

Loads going on here that's for sure. Did plenty of winters in cold places. Don't miss any of that. Summers are wicked hot, but it's tolerable once you've been for a while. You just spend less time outside is all :) or in a pool or water park.

Well I also thought you were an actual doctor from the thread title, Lol!

Hello from MI! So I have two burning questions:

What are you doing at the parks 5-6 times a week? Just walking around, soaking up ambience, riding rides, eating?

And do you ever find yourselves going, "Eh, I just don't feel like Disney this week"?

lol ... I wish :)

Depends on the mood really. I've gone to ride Star Tours over & over again before. Go take in Illuminations or a special show/concert that evening. We go for dinner quite a bit as well actually. Sometimes it's just fun to head out there just to soak everything in. The atmosphere and the attention to detail in some areas of Disney are really something else.

At times, I believe people (and I understand why, they're on holiday) are so rushed to get everything in -- They forget everything that is actually happening around them. Benefits of living so close though :) I have the time to just sit and listen to the background music of World Showcase or the Studios. Sit on a bench in the UK and listen to British Revolution while enjoying a pint.

I really enjoy meeting people from all over the world as well. Every time we go we tend to meet very interesting and fun people from all over the world. I enjoy helping them out and sharing any tips and.or secrets about doing something easier or cheaper than they may have or have not heard about before.

And no. We really never say we don't feel like Disney today :) I'd be there even more if scheduling would allow for it. The beauty of Disney is no matter how many times we go. No matter how many times we ride [insert ride here] or see [insert show here]. The experience is unique. One of the many reasons why Disney is such a special place.
