This is my first trip since 1999, so new to the fast pass all together. I am set to make my reservations on the 29th. I plan on staying up to midnight to make them. Then I got to thinking, is it the same as dining reservations where it operates on eastern time? So since I am in central time zone, can I make my selections at 11pm??

I think thats correct. I'm making my reservations tonight and I'm central time so I will post tomorrow and confirm whether or not I was able to book at 11pm.

yes its midnight EST so it would be 11pm CST.

btw its 1am EST when MK is open past midnight for regular park hours but tomorrow MK closes at 11pm EST so FP+ will open at midnight EST.

So the time is based on what time MK closes the day you are booking? Just wondering because the website says MK closes at 11pm this week, but is it always 12pm or later when the booking window opens?

I was able to book last night at 11pm(central). I made sure I was already logged into my account and I was at the fast pass party selection page. I had no problems getting the rides/times I wanted for HS. But I wasn't really worried. I'm booking MK tonite and I'm hoping I can get 7DMT, luckily my kids don't care about A&E.

Wow. This is dedication.

My DW usually handles this stuff (although she does ask for our input). No wonder some of the FP+ is filled by the time we "Book" it on the first "Morning" we are able to.

Kudos to you dedicated folks. I need sleep more than I need Thunder Mountain. :)

If you stay on property it probably isn't an issue to wait until the morning to reserve FP but if you are off property you only have 30 days prior. You take the chance of the really popular FPs being full. The only one I'm really worried about is 7DMT. I'm usually up until 11 anyway so it's not a big deal for me to spend a few minutes booking FP. I already knew what I wanted and the general times.
I will say my DH thinks I'm crazy putting this much planning into the trip, but I enjoy it!

My DW is the same way. While I sometimes thinks she is nuts, in the end it's almost always worth the effort.
