Coronado Springs v POFQ

Hi all,

I am really close to booking 3 weeks for Sept 16 direct with Disney! :D The only thing holding me back is accommodation....

There is a £400 saving if I book CSR over POFQ, which is very tempting. Can anyone recommend CSR over POFQ?

We absolutely loved POFQ last year. It was quiet, the small resort & quieter buses were a big bonus, so I just can't decide if I want to try somewhere different, or return to POFQ.

I think the only really tangible differences are theming of the resorts and size of the resorts. The rooms are pretty much the same shell decorated differently. CS is much bigger so if you don't pay for a preferred room you may end up further away from the central hub. POFQ is so small nowhere is really far. Also the menus at the food courts are different and POFQ has the boat to DTD. But no on site restaurant unless you walk to POR and Boatrights. CS is also a convention resort if that matters to you.

We have stayed at both and are returning to CSR this year.

As pp said, there is little difference in the rooms apart from decor. I think the pool area and the lake are lovely at CSR. POFQ is more compact, but we always rent a car and at CSR would drive round to refill our mugs before leaving for the parks. We were in Casitas the first time, next time we will be in Cabanas as we have booked business class.

Although Ranchos are further out, some prefer that area as they say it is quieter.

If you are planning on going to DTD a lot you may be better at POFQ as you will spend less time travelling. However you can enjoy the lakeside bar and lounge at CSR if you prefer :goodvibes

Thank you for the advice.

I think I am going to book CSR. While I like the proximity to DTD from POFQ by boat, DBF is very keen to try a different hotel. The only downside is that the food hall at POFQ took us 2 mins to get to when we wanted a drinks & wifi break, whereas at CSR we might not be so lucky. But I wouldn't let that spoil a good Disney holiday! :goodvibes

I was originally going to say try a different hotel but then realised we were going back to the same one, so couldn't really back it up! In fairness, we have stayed at a few other WDW hotels in the past so I might win half the argument :)
