Must Have Treats to Try At Disney?

Be aware that the pineapple soft serve with rum at AK is NOT exactly Dole Whip. It is a different texture and slightly different flavor. Close enough for me though...it was quite good. :)

I disagree. On my last trip we had Dole Whip at MK, AK, Epcot and at the Poly and the Dole from Aloha Isle was the worst! The texture was way off from normal, it was too "icy" and not as creamy. That must happen from time to time, it does come out of a machine.

Dole whip, especially with rum at Tamu Tamu in AK
Mickey rice krispy treat with chocolate - gift shops, hotels, Goofy's candy store @ DTD
Frozen Chai Latte - Anandpur Tea in AK
Cupcakes - Kusafiri in AK & Starring Rolls in DHS
School bread - Norway Epcot
Anything from Les Halles in France Epcot
Anything from Karamel Kutche in Germany Epcot

Fun tip: the gummy bears in the German pavilion in epcot are actually from Germany, and have a little less sugar than their American counterpoint. So much better!

I am always disappointed though, because they aren't as soft as the ones in Germany. The ones here are rock hard by comparison, even in the heat of Texas.

I will be there during the flower & garden! Any place specific? I dont remember seeing it anyplace last year????

The macadamia nut rum was awesome with the dole whip at F&G. It was so good. I could have eaten a couple by myself.

I wanted to add another one to my list. This may not be a popular choice but we absolutely LOVE the corn dogs at MK!! We dont have corndogs like these where im from....so its a real treat when coming to wdw!

I got so excited when I read this! I absolutely agree, MK has the best corn dogs, I don't really care for corn dogs anywhere else but here I keep my eyes open when we walk by one of the carts to see if they have any. On our last trip I tried the corn dog nuggets from Caseys, they were so good

Having given up sweets for lent.... I could be found passed out on a park bench in a sugar coma.... From reading all these posts...

MK... Cookie ice cream sandwich
Epcot... Beer at rose and crown
AK... Egg rolls at that cart in Asia
DS... Carrot cake cookie sandwich

Anywhere... Mickey ice cream.... Turkey legs

I am a huge ice cream addict so for me it has to be a Dole Whip. It's my only "must-have" treat!

I know you can get popcorn anyway but on most trips I like to grab some in the souvenir cup. They have many uses at my house!

Rice cream from Norway is super yummy. I always have to have my Mickey head rice crispie treat as soon as I get to Main Street too.

Animal Kingdom- jalapeno pretzel Magic Kingdom- pot roast mac n cheese from Friars Nook Hollywood Studios-the pretzel dog from Min and Bills and Epcot-any pastry from Les Halles or the crepe stand. (Both in France)

Someone needs to make a knockout list with all this info...

Is friars nook open for Easter week? Gotta try that Mac and cheese.....

Has anyone had both the dole whip at WDW AND at the Dole plantation in Hawaii? I've had the one in Hawaii and it was sooooooooooooooo sweet. So sweet that I'm not sure I'd want another one or I'd have to share with someone.
But I'm wondering if the WDW version won't be as sweet since in Hawaii pineapple is sweeter since they can pick it when it's super fresh. The stuff we get over here isn't as fresh since it has to be picked before it's ripe in order to ship.

I only had a few treats so I'm not the best person to listen to, but most of what I tried was low quality over sweet junk...

My favorite of the items I had was the Red Velvet Cream Cheese Cupcake at Starring Rolls, and my least favorite was the Dole Whip Float (one of those over sweet treats!)...I didn't find it refreshing in the heat because it was just pure sticky sugar...my husband and I split one and it was way too much so we tossed it. The coconut gelato at CSR was very yummy and refreshing! I wanted to try the cream cheese stuffed pretzel available at one of the kiosks but didn't get a chance.

I think the best advice is to lower your expectations as far as quality goes. I've found that people who rave about how amazing this or that tastes is overhyping it and I think they think it tastes better than it does because it's Diney World. For instance, the ice cream sandwiches, Mickey bars, etc are most likely generic lower quality products that you can buy by the box at home but they taste better when it's 90 degrees out and you've walked 10 miles at Disney and feeling the magic. This is just my opinion but I'm pretty certain Disney isn't using premium ingredients for their ice cream sandwiches and such. So, take reviews and opinions with a grain of salt, including mine. :)
