Hello, I'm flying from central Florida (probably should leave from Tampa or Orlando airports) to California for a wedding in Ventura. (I'm guessing LAX is the best airport?).

Where should I look for a budget flight for two or three adults?

the expected fly in date is july 21st and we will be coming back either July 31st or august 1st.

Use kayak to research the least expensive options. Remember that jetblue and southwest are not included in a kayak search, so you should also check out those sites. As for airports, you can fly into LAX or Burbank. Both will be just over an hour with no traffic. You will need to rent a car. You can also look into other airports in the area. Flights may be cheaper, but the drive will be longer. Your other options are Ontario (2 hrs), Long Beach (1 hr 40 mins), or Orange County (2 hrs).

Burbank might be your best option. The Amtrak station is walking distance to Burbank airport so you could take that to Ventura.

I was curious so I typed "Tampa to Burbank" and "Orlando to Burbank" in Google and found many options available. Kayak is good. I personally use Expedia. They list Jet Blue and US Airways which is often the cheapest.

Burbank would be logistically easier if you can get a reasonable flight there. Much smaller. The drive can be 2+hours in bad traffic (mostly getting out of LA, and around Thousand Oaks)

Burbank is definitely easiest and closest but usually more expensive than LAX. Amtrak to Ventura is a great option - and they have what they call an LAX stop ( not so sure it really is though) as well as one in Burbank. That's a long trip! There's lots to explore in that area. Have fun!

The station code for Union Station is LAX. To get there from LAX you can take the Fly Away, it's a bus that costs $7-$8. It takes an hour to 90 minutes depending on which terminal and traffic.
