Finally decide to join the fun

Greetings to all Fort campers. Long time lurker, couldn't stand just reading the posts and finally decided to join the FUN. Not sure I'm liking the new set up for the DIS, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. My crew includes Me (52), DW (I'll leave this one blank), DD (17), DS (14), 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 ferrets, and an African Grey parrot. Believe me it's logistically easier to take them all with rather than have someone at my home watching them. Our mobile zoo is a 40' Fleetwood Excursion. Planning a trip for sometime in July. Not the most optimum time to go but DS is planning on summer camp for Boy Scouts and DD will be going off to college in the fall, so we have to fit it in when we can. If all goes well, pre trip report with pictures will be coming soon.

Tigger,

Welcome to the Camping forums. :welcome:

If you've been lurking for a while, you know we love trip reports. Especially those with LOTS of pictures. :cloud9:

And July is a great time of year...as long as you like the surface of the sun! :rotfl2: Actually, it really depends on where you normally spend your time and what that weather is like. I live outside St Louis. The temperatures are often hotter in StL with the same humidity, so the Fort is actually more comfortable. Crowds will be typical "schools out" levels. Which is manageable. I'll take summer crowds over Spring Break crowds. Those seem to be the only times of the year I come to the Fort.

When things get a little closer, start up a pre-trip report. Tell us where you're coming from, any prep plans you have and what you have planned to do at WDW and the Fort.

Teamubr, thanks for the welcome. I'm in the western suburbs of Chicago so I'm fully aware of crazy weather, and we've been at WDW for 4th of July as well. As soon as I figure out this new fangled computin' machine, I'll post some pics. Of course I could post a blank white pic and just tell you our rig is underneath. They're calling for 50 degree temps next week, I'm about ready to bust out the shorts. If I can figure out how to post a pic on my post thing, I,ll be on a roll.

Welcome tigger92662, you can't post pics until you have 10 posts.:surfweb: We can't wait to see them. popcorn::

Welcome to forum Tigger98662, the more the better. I was a long time lurker for about 6 months, I'm still glad a joined,

Thanks Randy. You're kinda making me feel a little guilty though, I was a lurker for about 3 years. Joe

:welcome: party:

You only have 5 more post to go. And I was a long time lurker as well. I think my first post was like 1.5 years after I joined. Trip reports are always fun for us lurkers to read. I'll be down there in just 2 days.

Enjoy your stay. Can't wait to be down there myself, but right now I'll be content temps above freezing.

Welcome!

Quite the traveling zoo indeed! We have two labs and even with them it is just easier (and literally offsets the gas budget) to bring them along, plus it is just nice to have the whole crew together rather than worrying how they are doing.

You'll have a great trip, happy planning!

I hear you. It's supposed to be mid-50s 250 miles south of you this weekend. 60's by mid week. I'm not sure how much of that warmth Chicago is going to see. You seem to always be 10 degrees cooler than us.

KristinU, we always joke that are animals have been to Disney more than most people we know.

At this point I don't care as long as it's above 32. I read the other day that there was 672 hours in February and we were above freezing for a whopping 35 hours the entire month. It gets very difficult to come home everyday and see the cover on the rig and buried in snow. Enough already!

Joe, howdy.

Easy to post pix from Photobucket. With this new forum software it looks like you have the option to upload a file but then it's a mini-shadow thumbnail which you have to click on to open in full view. I still prefer to see pix from hosting sites like photobucket.

Set up an account in photobucket and set up a folder/library for each wdw trip (at least that's what I do). Upload your pictures to that folder. Each picture has a set of links associated with it. You want the IMG link - copy and paste it AS IS into your DIS reply panel. It's that simple. We covered it last year here.

Thanks for your help and glad to finally meet you. I gotta say, I like the new avatar but I'm gonna miss the football player.
