World of color dessert party?!

Has anyone tried to book the dessert party for Tuesday, April 25, 2017? It shows no availability and has ever since the date opened up. There is availability for all the dates around it. I'm just puzzled by it. I haven't bothered to call and ask since I'm leaning towards saving this for our last day, Wed, April 26. I'm curious if others are unable to book that night as well.

You can cancel and get a refund. I cannot remember the timeframe, but it is probably 24 or 48 hours in advance.
Thanks for the info; I had read the reservation info and somehow interpreted it as pre-paid with no possibility of cancellation. Your confident reply inspired me to take another look! So glad to have a place where others will help and I don't have to simply rely on my own silly self to get things right! I just finished speaking with a cast member and making the reservation!

Yes, you can cancel right from the app. I booked the party, charged to credit card, then cancelled a couple weeks later to change days. No problem.

Standing in line to get in to the dessert party. Anybody know why I see rows and rows of about fifty folding chairs right in front of the check in? Is there another seating area or has the dessert party lost its tables??

No idea - hope it goes well for you tho and please report back on how it goes - good luck : )

Seating for VIP tours.

That has to be for something else... first of all, it's totally impractical to not have a table, with all the food and drinks! But also, a CM has to walk you down to get to the seating area. It wasn't literally next to the check-in spot.

Thanks! I panicked for nothing. The rows behind us were for "VIPs". We're at our table now!

Are the tables assigned when you reserve or based on where you are in line? Thanks!

As far as I am aware, it's still be first come, first serve for tables. I posted a photo in another thread that I just dug up... we were literally the second to last family seated, in what would be considered the "worst" table I guess, and it was really very good! My son, 7 at the time, took the photo, as I was trying to help out a petite dis-er and give that perspective. It's from last year... if the seating plan has been altered at all, maybe someone who went more recently will pipe up. scroll all the way to the end of the page for my kiddo's photo.

Seating is first come first serve, but hard to believe there is a 'bad' seat. We lined up at 8:20 for our 9pm admit and were towards the back of the line and had a great spot!

The CM had a table already assigned to us when we checked in, but was open to our requests. Turns out that our requests and her assignment matched up very well, so everything turned out for the best.

I just called to check on booking this for Tues, April 25. She had to check with her supervisor because she wasn't able to pull it up either. When she came back on the phone she told me it was blocked off for a private event that night. I guess that explains why I have never been able to get it to pull up. I wonder what the event is?

I just booked this for March 20. I had no idea they were doing it and now I'm looking forward to the WOC experience in a whole new way.

I was trying to book April 25 as well. We will be there for the National DECA meeting and competitions. I am guess a state group booked the entire thing.

I know that tickets are released 60 days in advanced but does anyone know what time of day tickets go on sale? 9pm PST? Midnight PST? 8am EST? I dunno.

Unfortunately we felt there were some bad tables for the price they ask :o

Note: This was in the first week of December 2016
We got there a fair bit earlier than when we were told to arrive (probably 4th or 5th group in queue waiting for admittance) and could not follow the show because the high table in-front blocked the main center view.
We missed probably 50-80% of the screen during the show. :sad2:
Others had reported a similar experience

Below's an example of what I'm talking about:

I guess I'm a little cranky that we paid so much money per person ($105 AUD each) for a view which we felt was fairly below average, literally could have purchased a couple of new movies/games/etc for the price, possibly even a new tablet :worried:

But I am glad that others got good tables/views though! :D

Don't be swayed by my comments, I'm just sharing our personal experience with this event, others seemed to report positive experiences overall - I guess we just had bad luck or something?

I've read complaints from people who were seated at low tables in the front row which said that if people in the section in front put their kids on their shoulders, then your view will be blocked. CMs don't do anything about asking the guests in front of the Dessert Party to take the kids off their shoulders, so the people posting felt they were stuck with a very expensive, bad view. It seems there are risks for less than stellar viewing in both rows then. Perhaps it would be better if there were only high tables and Disney staggered them by row so that every guest could have a good view.
